Made by hand, from the farm.
Every crook and walking stick started in a hedge, a horn shed, or a fallen piece of wood on the farm. Nothing was mass-produced. No two looked alike.
A shepherd's crook is a working tool — it needs to sit right in the hand, balance on the wrist, and last through a lifetime of weather and sheep. It is also, in the right light, a quiet sculpture. Ian aimed to honor both.
The farm supplied the stick.
Shafts came from hedges cut and cured on the farm — hazel, holly, ash, blackthorn, and others depending on the year. Heads came from horn shed by the farm's own rams, from deer and elk antler, or from figured hardwoods saved from storm work. Finishes were traditional oil and wax.
Because everything started on the farm, every stick had a provenance of its own — a particular hedge, a particular ram, a particular winter.

Due to workshop damage, Ian isn't currently making crooks or walking sticks. He hopes to return to it soon.
